George P. Hatzigiannis D.M.D.,
M.D. was born in Athens, Greece, but grew up
locally in Medford, Massachusetts. He attended Harvard
University, where he obtained his B.A. in biology, graduating
cum laude. Following several years in biomedical research on
joint replacement materials, he attended the Harvard School of
Dental Medicine, where he received his D.M.D. Following this,
he attended the University of Connecticut Medical School, and
completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the
University of Connecticut Health Center and Hartford
Hospita
Dr. Hatzigiannis practices a broad scope of oral and
maxillofacial surgery, with special interests in dental
implants and preprosthetic bone grafting, orthognathic
surgery, jaw related pathology, facial trauma and
reconstruction, and temporomandibular disorders..
Melissa Lackey, D.M.D.,
M.D., grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Her
undergraduate studies were completed at Rutgers University
where she received a B.A. in biology, graduating Cum Laude and
Phi Beta Kappa. She also developed her artistic
abilities by studying design and illustration at the Fashion
Institute of Technology. She is a member of the American
Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) and is
a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial
Surgery (ABOMS). She received a Doctorate in Dental Medicine
from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating Magna
Cum Laude and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. She then completed
a pathology fellowship at the New England Deaconess Medical
Center. Dr. Lackey then received her medical degree from
Harvard Medical School and completed her oral and
maxillofacial surgery residency training at the Massachusetts
General Hospital. She holds a staff position at the North
Shore Medical Center and at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital
Dr. Lackey practices a broad scope of oral and
maxillofacial surgery, with special emphasis on dental
extractions, dental implants, bone and soft tissue grafting,
orthognathic surgery, and surgical pathology and facial
cosmetic procedures.
Francis J. McNamara,
D.M.D., received his B.S. from Boston College in
1962. He then attended Tufts School of Dental Medicine,
receiving his D.M.D. in 1966. Dr. McNamara achieved his
certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Tufts
University in 1967 and then completed his oral surgery
residency in 1969 from the U.S. Veterans Hospital. Following
his formal training, Dr. McNamara began private practice in
Melrose. He has been a respected clinician and member of
the Northshore medical and dental community ever
since.
Dr. McNamara is a former clinical instructor and
assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Tufts
University. He is the former President of the medical
staff and is currently Chief of Oral Surgery at
Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Dr. McNamara is a
founding fellow of the American College of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS) and
is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
Daniel
Magalnick, D.M.D. received his B.A. in biology
from State University of New York-Harpur College in
1966. He then received his D.M.D. from the University of
Pittsburgh in 1970. He completed his dental internship
at the Montifiore Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1971 and then
completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the
University Hospital in Baltimore in 1974. He received
additional oral and maxillofacial surgical experience serving
as attending surgeon in the armed forces from 1974-1976.
Following his term of service, he joined Dr. Rosen on the
North Shore.
Dr. Magalnick practices a broad scope
of oral and maxillofacial surgery with interests in jaw
related pathology and dental implants. He is the former Chief
of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and currently
holds a staff position at the North Shore Medical Center as
well as a consultant position at The Lahey Hospital
North. He also serves as Oral Surgery Consultant for
BlueCrossBlue Shield of Massachusetts.
Dr. Magalnick is
a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery (AAOMS). He is a diplomate of the American Board
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
Jose
(Joe) M. Marchena, D.M.D., M.D., grew up in
Aruba. He attended Clark University in Worcester where
he obtained his B.A. in biology. He then attended
Harvard School of Dental Medicine and graduated Magna Cum
Laude in 1996. Dr. Marchena also obtained his M.D.
degree from Harvard Medical School in 1998. He completed
internships in oral and maxillofacial surgery and general
surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and his
residency training at Louisiana State University Medical
Center/Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
Prior to joining
our practice, Dr. Marchena was an Assistant Professor at the
University of Texas Health Science Center and Chief of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ben Taub General Hospital in
Houston. Dr. Marchena is a recipient of multiple
teaching awards and has published numerous scientific articles
and book chapters in the field of oral and maxillofacial
surgery.
Dr. Marchena practices a broad scope of
oral and maxillofacial surgery. His areas of focus
include:
- Removal of impacted wisdom teeth
- Oral Surgery for Children and Adolescents
- Management of jaw cysts/tumors
- Jaw reconstruction with bone grafts and dental
implant
Dr. Marchena is a Fellow of the American Association of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and a Diplomate of the
American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
(ABOMS). He currently holds staff positions at
North Shore Medical Center and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
J.
Myron Rosen, D.M.D., received his A.B. from Tufts
University in 1952. He then received his D.M.D. from
Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1956.
After
fulfilling the requirements of his oral and maxillofacial
surgery internship at the Metropolitan Hospital in New York
City in 1957, he continued on to complete his oral and
maxillofacial surgery residency at The Delaware Hospital in
1958. Dr. Rosen then went on to complete his general
surgery training at The Graduate School of Medicine at the
University of Pennsylvania in 1959.
Since he established his oral and maxillofacial surgery
practice in Salem in 1959, Dr. Rosen has become an integral
member of the medical community on the North Shore of
Massachusetts. He pioneered the establishment and
construction of the North Shore Medical and Dental Building in
Peabody and has actively served patients from all of the North
Shore communities through his practice in all aspects of
dentoalveolar oral surge
Dr. Rosen is a former Associate Chief of Oral Surgery at
the North Shore Medical Center and currently holds a position
as Senior Attending Oral Surgeon. He also serves as a
consultant at Lahey Hospital North. Dr. Rosen is a member of
the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
(AAOMS).
Randy Todd, D.M.D., M.D.,
DMSc., grew up in Danvers, Massachusetts. He
attended St. John's Preparatory School and graduated Magna Cum
Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from DePauw
University.
He received a Doctorate in Dental
Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine,
graduating Summa Cum Laude in a Special Field and Omicron
Kappa Upsilon. Later, Dr. Todd completed a Doctorate of
Medical Sciences degree in tumor/molecular biology at Harvard
University and a Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School. Dr.
Todd completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency
training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1997. From
1997-2002, he served as an Assistant Professor/Assistant
Visiting Surgeon at Harvard and the Massachusetts General
Hospital, as well as Director of the Head and Neck Cancer
Research Center. Currently, Dr. Todd holds a staff position at
the North Shore Medical Center and as a Consultant at the
Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary in
Boston.
Dr. Todd practices a broad scope of oral
and maxillofacial surgery, with special emphasis on dental
impactions, implants, oro-facial bone grafting, orthognathic
surgery, and surgical pathology.
He is a member
of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
(AAOMS) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
