What is an Oral Surgeon?  An Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons care for patients who experience such conditions as problem wisdom teeth, facial pain, and misaligned jaws.  They treat accident victims suffering facial injuries, offer reconstructive and dental implant surgery, and care for patients with tumors and cycsts of the jaw and functional and esthetic conditions of the maxillofacial area.

What insurances do you accept?  Because we are a surgical practice, we accept most dental AND medical insurances.  Please call ahead to see if you need a medical referral.

Can I be asleep for my procedure?  Absolutely.  We offer conscious and deep sedation techniques for all ages of patients.  Our surgeons and staff are fully trained and certified experts in pediatric and adult anesthesia techniques.

Do I need to be hospitalized for my procedure?  In most cases, we can perform your procedure in our state-of-the-art in office surgical suites.  We offer comfortable and modern consultation and operative rooms as well as the latest in surgical and sterilization equipment.  Should your procedure require specialized hosptial care, our surgeons are on the staff of Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, North Shore Medical Center and North Shore Children's Hospital.

What are dental implants and do you do them?  A dental implant is a small titanium fixture that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth.  The implant is placed in the upper or lower jaw.  It will bond with the bone over time and thus serve as an anchor for the replacement tooth.  Dental implants can be used to replace a single lost tooth or many missing teeth.  Our surgeons are trained in all aspects of implantation and would be happy to discuss the process with you.

What cosmetic procedures do you offer?  Extensive education and training make the Oral Surgeon finely attuned to the importance of harmony between facial appearance and function.  IN addition to offering a full range of orthognathic procedures, we offer non-surgical wrinkle correction injectables such as Botox, Restylane and Collagen and Hyluronic Acid.  Feel free to contact us to discuss all your cosmetic needs.
