Meet Dr. Marchena

Jose M. Marchena, D.M.D., M.D., attended Clark University, where he obtained his B.A. in biology. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in1996 and also obtained his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1998. He went on to complete internships in oral and maxillofacial surgery and general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and his residency training at Louisiana State University Medical Center/Charity Hospital in New Orleans.

Dr. Marchena is a previous Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center and a previous Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, Texas. He is a recipient of multiple academic, research, and teaching awards and has published 15 scientific articles and 7 book chapters in the fields of oral and facial surgery. He continues to be an invited author on the subject of major maxillofacial trauma and reconstructive surgery for textbooks of oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, and plastic surgery.

Dr. Marchena is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He currently holds positions at Anna Jaques Hospital, Merrimack Valley Hospital, and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
