Meet Dr. Todd

Randy grew up in Danvers, Massachusetts and attended St. John’s Preparatory School.  After high school, he attended DePauw University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Todd completed his professional training at Harvard and the Massachusetts General Hospital. He received a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude in a Special Field and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Later, Dr. Todd completed a Doctorate of Medical Sciences degree in tumor/molecular biology at Harvard University and a Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Todd completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery/general surgery residency training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1997.

From 1997-2002, he served as an Assistant Professor/Assistant Visiting Surgeon at Harvard and the Massachusetts General Hospital, a consultant at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary and Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Research Center. Currently, Dr. Todd is an Associate at Salem-Peabody Oral Surgery and holds a staff position at the North Shore Medical Center. He is the author of over 50 original articles, reviews, and book chapters, including “Oncogenes” (The Encyclopedia of the Human Genome) and “The Molecular Biology of Cancer” (Fonseca’s Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery). He is also co-editor of Microarrays in Cancer Research. Dr. Todd has served as a reviewer for the publications Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, Oncogene, Cancer, Cancer Detection and Prevention, Journal of Dental Research, Cancer Research, Oral Oncology, Nucleic Acids Research and BioTechniques. He has received several regional and national awards and has been an invited speaker locally, nationally and internationally.

Dr. Todd practices a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with special emphasis on dental impactions, implants, oro-facial bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, and surgical pathology. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).
